if i got a mid-sump 1jz could i just put a front sump oil pan on it and have it work just fine?

... umm you need a rear sump for Supras..

Plus you have to change the oil pickup as well.

And more than likely you will have the wrong engine brackets for the Supra crossmember.

Hey Eric I am also doing a 1j swap in a cressida but I am using the soarer motor which has slight differences from the type r supra but you have to use the supra oilpan( both pieces) and the supras oil pick up so if you hav that motor it should just fit my friend ha type r supra motor in an 89 cressida and it was just a direct drop in,just remove the clutch fan blades before you drop it in and buy an eletric fan clutch fan does not work not enough space .

If you're putting a 1JZ in a Cressida, use a 1JZ from a Chaser - not a Supra or Soarer. The Chaser is the same chassis as the Cressida so it's a direct swap.

hey would like some info on an engine swap from a 7mge to a 1jz my car is 89 supra i wold like to find out what kind of mods that i havee to make and parts that i have to get this is my first supra...
