Jesus, for that price, if you were resourceful enough and good enough with wiring, you could do a 2JZ swap.. and maybe even have enough money left over to get it up to BPU status!

Is that labor included? And if it was, wouldn't that be a pretty good price?

It says it includes installation which is a good price. It is the same price I charge to do the install with parts. C&N performance in florida charges the same. If you can find a better price and have your car back in a week let me know. If I have everything ready I can have a car done in a couple days.

Okay, okay.. if they install it all, then it's not too bad of a price. You never know what can go wrong with a shop installing though. There's a guy here in town who was stupid enough to spend over $12k on a SR20 swap because the engine came in and had bad compression, and instead of waiting for another one to come in, he ordered ANOTHER front clip. The engine had low compression in one cylinder, so he spent money to have the engine built. Long story short, a year later he has a stock SR20 with bolts that vibrated and backed out of the turbo housing, and he has spent enough to make a BAD ASS 240 but ended up with a POS.

If you pay somebody to do your 1jz swap then fine! BUT what happens wen something goes wrong with your 1jz, then your fucked because you dont know shit about the swap you are just "driving around"! You cant just take your 1jz mkiii to the local mechanic to get fixed, even if the installer warranty's it then you would have to bring it back to them, not good if your not local. Im a big fan of doing my own work on my car, i would never pay somebody to do anything like that on my car. Doing the swap yourself is when you learn the most about what your getting into. Do some reasearch and do your own work.

I think it would be funny to do a JZ swap on a Mk2 or Mk3 and then take it to the local Toyota dealer for minir maintenance. Seeing them scratch their heads would almost be worth the bill.

the problem is finding all the info to do your homework.i've went to all the web sites in the faq, they don't realy tell you exactly what to do with the wiring.one said to extend the harness then solder the connectors from the 7m harness.i have the computer from the jza70 out, motor close to being ready to come out.i haven't stripped my car yet,so i haven't seen the plugs on my car to understand what they are talking about.i was going to try and get the firewall from the jza70 out.the spotwelds look easy enought to get at,do the whole rhd thing.so i can just use the whole harness

You need more than the front clip to do the rhd drive swap the right way. You need the tranny tunnel to complete the swap and the rhd e-brake assy, basisly you need the whole rhd car. I have a good rhd dash if you want it. I neeed to get rid of it. I was going to do the rhd drive swap also. But after looking into it i decided to spend my time and money on other things. If you want to do the lhd swap, then go to suprastore.com and they have a deal where you send them your 7M and 1JZ harnesses and they send you back the extended 1JZ harness all for a sweet price of $600.00 (ya right) thats if you cant soder then go ahead.

the clip i got was cut behind the e-brake bracket.the e-brake is not there and either is the back half of the console.its kinda funny i took the complete dash out there is things stamped out as if you could make lhd & rhd.like even the wiper motor and arms, easy to make them go the other way.i haven't noticed anything diferent about the trans tunnel, just where the shifter bolts up.i was going to drill the spot welds on it then tack it on mine.i'm not going to hack up my car till i get all the reqiured pieces from the clip.if i ruin the firewall no great loss.i'm awesome at soldering just don't have the info on what i should solder.600$ for a harness is to rich for my blood.i actualy need to dump some stuff to raise money.my 7m has 82,000 miles,my cars a 92 so somebody might need the crossmember,my harness would be untouched.what color is your dash, the one thyat came with my clip is grey right color just not as mint as mine.

Hey as long as your a good welder. I would do the rhd swap if i could weld better. If you do the rhd swap with some success let me know how it went. About needing the tunnel, thats just what ive been told from numerous people. Ive also heard that you neeed the whole car? If they cut the clip in the right spot you might be able to do it. If you need some parts just look at some junk yards in Japanfind a translaitor) My buddie majord in Japanese, its nice. Anyway good luck.
