I'm new to supras and i have a quick question about a 1jz swap into an mk3. what all is necessary for the swap?

i know i'll need motor, trans, ecu, harness, and all that stuff. but is there anything special that i would need?

*reason being, i plan on buying a motor from osaka and i wanted to know if they have majority of what i'll need.this is the motor that i'm talking about.*

-feel free to email me or IM me on AIM.

Shows you what you need

http://www.1jz-gte.us/92Supra8.html

and most of this stuff you will need or recommended. Its alot of money if you plan on doing this you better have a good mechanic or a good shop to do it. http://store.driftmotion.com/index.php?sid=1468c1dfbaba97&category_id_int=142

One has to appreciate the MKIII for what it is, not hate it for what it's not.

thanks for the response.

i know some of my questions are probably stupid...but i'm still trying to figure this out.

ok, on the required parts list...why is it that i need that stuff? shouldn't it be a direct "swap" of parts from a 1jz front clip to the mk3? (except for lengthening the wiring harness of course)

edit- being a 1jz "is expensive to swap" do you think it would be worth it to fix the stock motor then? it's a non turbo automatic that needs a new bottom end.

in the short run $$$ wise, it would be cheaper to replace your 7M short block...

In the long run however, the money you spend would be better spent on the 1JZ swap, but that's just my opinion.

If you can raise the cash, do the 1JZ swap, you'll be so happy you did!

that's what i was thinking. i have a pretty steady job and i'm [hoping] to get some finacial backing from my parents, so money shouldn't be TOO much of a problem. (i guess i can't play paintball for a while, damn)

does anyone know where i can find a 1jz, automatic front clip, IN THE US!?
