Just wondering, I can't find a post that tells me why I would want to get rid of the hydraulic water pump and go with the 2jz pump. There has to be a reason, I was just wondering what it is. The mechanical fan is already gone on my engine, so do I need to do the swap?

B/c the hydrolic waterpump system from japan is $800 and to do a 2j waterpump swap is just about $200. the problem is finding the rear waterpump housing for the 2j. very rare it took me about 2 months before i could get one from toyota.
