Well, long story short, Buddy got a 1jz(auto trans) bought all necessary harnesses installed everything, go to turn the key and nothing happens. So I crawled under there and I only see 1 wire going to the starter. And it has a constant 12 V to it. I don't see any other connections to turn the thing on? Where do the other wires on the starter plug in? Is there any way to jump them just to test it all out?

THanks

1987 n/a supra. Looking for a good price on a 1jz or 2jz swap. Email me if you can help THANKS!!

the starter only has 2 wires going to it IIRC.you have the positive off the batt and there should be a male spade terminal off the starter solinoid also.if you tuoch these together you should get it to turn over.good luck keith

If its anything like the 7m that was in my bro's cressida then it doesnt have a ground wire, its grouded through the started gear into the motor.... im not sure about the spade... if what he says doesnt work, and it is infact like my brothers was, then you may need to re-place the starter gear so it gets a good connection (my bros would go out about every 6 months) but then again it had some other stuff wrong with it...

Who needs a big block when you can get more horsepower for less with a Turbo |6?

what motor set was this 1JZ from? knowing this will help me answer the question... also are you manual or auto tranny? (some of the wires on some sets are different colors based on the tranny they are with).

I know on the Soarers (JZZ30), the starter relay is under the hood at R/B #2, where in my Cressida it is inside the car, drivers side R/B, so I had to run a 10g wire thru the firewall from the starter relay to the harness for the starter.

I can probably help you out with this, but most likely there is a connector under the hood (on the early JZZ30, pre 94, it's connector CA1).
