About the 1.5jz upgrade people do, What transmission do you guys use?
And does the 2jz block actually hook up to the motormounts of the mk3? if you are going through the trouble of obtaining a 1jz head and a 2jz bottom....Why not just put the whole 2jz powerplant? And for the transmission, do you use the 6 spd tranny that hooks up to the 2jz? or is the 1jz bellhousing and tranny the same crap? I actually know of a guy that did a 2jz on an mk3...but he moved and never got a chance to ask him questions (Wasnt really interested in that project at the time because it sounded like it would be hard to do) |

Im not sure about the tranys... but as far as why not a full 2jz- Of course you know the 2jz is bigger displacement so thats why you want the 2j bottom, however for some crazy reason the 1jz head with a port and polish will flow more air than a 2j with one will.
Who needs a big block when you can get more horsepower for less with a Turbo |6? |

1j bellhousing fits the 2j block. you use the r154 supra 5sp trans. or the w58 with is300 flywheel and clutch.
the main reason to do the 1.5 is the .5 litre up. the 2j rotating assy. weighs more so it will make more tq. the 1j weighs less, so it revs faster. ----------------------------- the jizza is back |
