I have this FREE mod in use right now...but I read that you should use a real bcc for safety...why is that?
I have a Greddy bcc right now but I was going to return it for credits on something else.
Thoughts?

I'm not sure which free mod you are refering to, but definately keep the BCC. It's one of the most important devices you'll get for the car.

there is a good tech article on mkiv.com on why the bcc is better than the free fcd. look it up.

The free-bcc and the bcc accomplish the same results, but the bcc allows for a the necessary pre-spooling of the 2nd turbo, so in real life it should pro-long 2nd turbo issues from arising prematurely.

what if I am running in ttc mode?
(another question-if i have the 2nd turbo wired open, do I need to re-route the hoses too?)

Free-bcc is fine with TTC and no need to do the hoses if you have the wastegate wired.
