Hi everyone. Probably bit of a noob question. I have a MK IV BPU. Just running with T-bleed at the moment. Up til recently the weather has been very cold here in Michigan (below 30s). It has started to warm up and today it was in the 60s. When it was cold I was getting and holding about 17-18 psi. Today I only got 15 psi. Is this much of a temp effect to be expected without a boost controller? Would a Profec B or similar BC get the boost up again? Thanks.

No, this is normal for any turbo car. With cooler air, you get more oxygen, thus more boost. In warmer weather, the air is hotter with less oxygen so thus the need to crank it up a little during the summer and tone it down a bit during the winter.

A profec B or similar BC will not make a difference. you just have to fool around wtih your T-Bleed til it comes back up to 17-18psi.

By gettinga EBC, it makes it a lot easier being in the cabin, as well it being digital.

It might not be fully related, but I can run 13 psi in my MkIII to redline in 3rd gear without hitting fuel cut in the winter; can't be done here in the summer [Florida]. Usually, any more than 11.5psi in the summer will trigger it, and once in awhile it will still happen.

Oh, and I forgot to comment on the post regarding parallel/sequential operation; you shouldn't have to worry so much about the complexities of this setup if you perform the true-twin conversion.
Still, the Profec B-II is supposed to be one of the best units for the Supra-TT.

boost drop is normal. over the summer i would be lucky to see 17psi. 15-16 is what i usually saw but that is exactly what i wanted so it didnt matter. do the wastegate spring mod and it souldnt be much of a problem. just make sure you have race gas in your tank all the time Wink
