I just did a ettc mod on one of my supra's. It seems to work fine, has just a tad bit more lag, but doesn't bother me. With the turbo's run in twin mod, can you run higher boost? I was running 19psi on 101 fuel during the sequential setup, could I run maybe 22,25psi in twin mode? or is that pushing it to high?

97 Turbo, 6spd.

The only way you will hold more boost is because of any wastegate mods, not because there is anything special about true twin conversions and higher boost.

This mod changes the sequential nature of your turbos. Instead of one kicking in, and the second one at 4500 rpm, instead, they will both kick in at the same time, roughly 4500 rpm also (I think). This greatly increases your midrange power.

Good luck in car heaven, wherever you guys go.

UnixFate, i'm considering doing the TTC thing. are you saying if i do that, then both turbos only spool up by 4500rpm only? does that mean i wont have any boost before that? thats really bad isnt that? or do you mean full boost at 4500, when do the truetwins start spooling some boost?

True twin conversion cars spool up at the same time because they use the identical exhaust gas energy to do so under the conversion. You lose the early spool and boost of the traditional sequential set-up for the same-spool as true twin. It spools later is the bottom line, feeling more like a single turbo car. The only advantage that I can think of is help in the premature death of the 2nd turbo by now forcing both turbos to work together. There are no peak power gains, just power-band shifts from this mod.
