Dear all,
I am just about o install my whole new BPU kit on my JDM TT Supra. I have bought the following For HKS 3" Downpipe HKS Super Dragger Exhaust HKS S Type FMIC APexi AVCR Boost Controller Apexi SAFC Greddy BCC HKS Fuel Cut Defencer HKS Speed Cut Limiter HKS SSQV BOV K&N Intake I know this is a BPU without the pulleys and cams but it has a few more mods like the FMIC and Fuel Cut Defencer. The BPU on Supra Store says that you can get 450HP out of it if tuned properly. Will the same apply for a JDM spec supra running 16PSI of boost as maximum. I have heard that JDM Spec ceramic turboes are not too good over 16PSI. ALso is it a good idea to upgrade my clutch? Sorry i know these are lot of questions but i would really appreciate soem good info. Thanks |

im guessing this is through a 6spd since you talk about replacing the clutch. on JDM turbos probably ~400whp on US turbos ~425. at bpu your clutch will need more frequent attention so yes its a good idea to get an aftermarket one.

I have a JDM with some what similiar mods but AEM EMS, 850cc fuel injectors and a walbro fuel pump; I hit 426hp @ 20psi (without 150 shot N20) on an Aristo setup(CT20a steel turbine). If you want some more info on the JDM 2JZ GTE and what more you can do to get the full potential out of it, PM me.
I can tell you its all in the tuning and having a good engine management system, no matter what you have on your car, the right tuner can pull the maximum amount of power out of all your mods. |

JDM uses smaller ceramic turbos. USDM has bigger steel turbos. JDM has a power output of about 280hp and 323tq and the USDM is 320hp and 315tq also has bigger injectors and EGR system the JDM does not. Engine is about the same I meen they are a few differences but no major differences to my knowlege Beingnice could chime in he is good with JDM and most likely your JDM engine will be comming from an aristo (Jap GS lexus) than a JDM supra (they share the same engine)

JDM ceramic turbos will easily take 18-20 psi without any problem.they r very tough. and contarary to belive that they r weaker than steel ones .......i have a JDM supra and i am hitting 20 psi for 2 months...no problems....just give it a 5 mins cooling down before shutting off the engine ....secondly regaulary change yr oil at quick intervals ..cheers,,,,go for 20 psi on jdm twins....no worries
