the stock TT's and some NA's come with a Torsen Limited Slip Diff lets start simple. a slip differintial allows cars to go around turns. when you make a turn in a car you are bassically creating two cirlces, one thats bigger then the other. seeing as the outside wheels have to travel a greater distance then the inside wheels, you have to be able to let the wheels rotate independantly. with a car without lsd all the power would go to the inside wheels because the inside wheel is traveling the less distance. a lsd provides power to both wheels, not just one wheel in the rear drive train. the torsen lsd is a very unique lsd because if one wheel starts to loose traction, 1-5 times the power can be shifted to the other wheel that grips, but if one of the wheels does not have traction then 5*0 = 0 so power is shifted to the other wheel, allowing it to spin now,so both wheels spin. an lsd helps provide power turns. it makes the rear end of the car tighter. and you can in theory accelerate faster. but the supra comes stock with a great lsd. but the torsen lsds arnt the best. the trd are a true lsd, that once one wheel breaks loose power is still delivered to both wheels, not just one which is the case with the torsen
