Hi everyone. I have recently purchased a toyota supra 6 speed manual japanees spec. i have the following mods:
HKS INDUCTION KIT, HKS BLOW OFF VALVE, HKS FULL 3 INCH DOWN PIPE, HKS SUPER DRAGGER FULL EXHAUST SYSTEM, APEXI AVCR , GREDDY BOOST CUT CONTROLLER, 7 SERIES PLUGS GAPPED AT 0.034" AND A FMIC. I am running 17 psi when i race some one. considering ceramic turbos in the car if i run occasionally about 18-19 psi( only on tough races) then would i still blow up my turbos? the fueling is there in the car as i have a af guage and car runs super rich at above 14 psi so fueling is not a problem. suppose i do blow up my turbos at around 19 psi it will not harm the motor in any way cause the turbines shoot out of the exhaust right? how much bhp would i be generating at around 19 psi on the above set up ? whats the possibility of a blown turbo at this level ( on occasional runs to 19 psi)? Blown turbos would not harm the engine in any way ? Thanks and regards to all. Cheers |

The ceramic turbos are usually looked at as 15psi max turbos...not much more.
I would guestimate that if a turbo took a dump, you would hear a loud squeal and a bang CHRIS Supras and Z06s......I love em! |

How have you got your boost cut controller wired up? Is it tapped into the MAP sensor wire? Any issues with it leaning out your mixture at high boost?
