Im new here, so forgive me if I ask questions that have been answered already, but I did have trouble getting exact oppinions from the other posts. I just bought a 93 tt automatic with 43k original miles, and want to do bpu. I have already purchased a greddy boost cut eliminator, and will be using the downpipe(no cats) and full 3 inch exhaust that were on my friends supra before he went to a t-88 with four inch dp and exhaust. but I have afew questions...why isn't an intake listed on the bpu mods? Is it worth it? I read an article on bpu, where they claimed to get 24 hp off just a blitz sus intake! http://www.importtuner.com/powerpages/0111it_1997_toyota_supra/
I also read a comparison of filters, which concluded that the apexi was by far the best, for hp and filtration. http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/index.html what intakes do you guys use and how much did they help and cost? Also, with these mods, I will need the boost cut eliminator, but how much boost will it be running then? should I also get a boost controller just to be safe? I dont really want to run more than 16 or 17 psi, for fear of the wear and tear on such a good engine. I really appreciate anybody who takes the time to read this and give me some feedback, thanks

hey there, first of all, no tear or wear will your engine will be encountered with because of the famous 2JZGTE that can hold up High HP. If you can check Mike T section in the forum where he said it's yes and No answer for using Intake system, with the engine heat, you will not gain any, it will be only few HP gain during the first 5 minutes but then, it will be a loose, but in order to gain all the time, you need to use the Air max box offered by powerhouseracing or so, this box will eliminate any heat coming from the engine for a colder air. or you can fabricate a custom box to cover the filter, some people relocate the air filter to be as close as possible to the bumber. running up to 17 psi will give you extra RWHP but I believe the stock intercooler will not do it's job for that long, an aftermarket FMIC with 2 row is the best for the BPU. It's safer to use an electronic Boost controller unless if you keep your eyes all the time at the boost gauge.

To kill a bike, you need a weapon, T-88 will do it
