Hey guys, I just got into Autocross recently, and I realized for this sport, a lot of power isn't necessary. It's better to have a car that handles well around sharp corners, and accelerates out quickly, as speeds rarely exceed 60mph. And for those of you that own an MK4, you know this car is one heavy mofo, lol.

So I figured the best thing would be to remove weight from the car, and add a roll cage. Any of you have experience doing this? Where should I remove from first? And how much weight could I expect to remove? I guess that depends on how much you're willing to sacrfifice. Thx for all feedback!

what mods do you have done to the car?
as for stuff to remove things like carpet and any interior panels and seats you don't need. as for the rollcage you might not want to do a full carge just get a harness bar with some 4 or 5 point harnesses, it will give you a little stiffer body and keep you strapped in to your seat.

Removing weight isnt really that beneficial because the supra weighs about 3000 pounds and to remove a seat would be about 30 pounds so doing that would only reduce it by 1%.

^^^ 1% is stil 1% and every bit counts. Isn't like 100lbs 1/10th of a second off ur 1/4 mile time. Not that thast the goal but still weight is weight.
