Hi all... I have a '97 TT 6sp stock + 3" down, TRD exhaust, G-Force ECU, APEX-I SAFC, HKS intake, & an HKS EZ Boost Controller. I live in the Toronto area but the EZ was installed on the west coast & i'm obviously far away from the installer. I've been a bit skeptical this unit was installed correctly. What i notice is that ports 2 & 3 are loopback (i.e. tied together with a 4" hose). But when i look at the installation instructs from HKS
http://www.hksusa.com/content/pdf1641.pdf a port 2<->3 loopback is not documented as a valid setup. Can anybody clarify for me the proper setup/install of the EZ on a TT. Thanks! P.S. I have yet to install a boost gauge (soon!). So my judgement is purely subjective but it seems that activating EZ is not buying me any additional boost/power. |

Hey I just installed my HKS EZ last weekend so I thought i'd try to help. As you know, there are 3 ports on the stepping motor. Port 1 goes to any source of pressurized air on the intake manifold side (i tapped into the TPS sensor). Ports two and three are definitely not supposed to be tied together as these two ports are what controls the wastegate actuator allowing you to run higher boost. The wastegate actuator has two "nipples", the nipple pointing down toward the ground goes to port 2. Port 3 taps into the hose that connects the other "nipple" of the wastegate actuator to the compressor housing of the 1st turbo. Hope that answers your questions. Feel free to pm me if you need anything else.
