you should noramlly be running at 18 PSI this isnt too bad on your turbos. For race turn it up some. I run mine at 22 PSI but I know people who push them to 28 PSI on the factory turbos. Not a good idea though this will decrease the life of the turbo dramatically

AEM EMS,Airinx Air Intake, HKS Hard Pipe Kit,HKS SBOV, Tanabe Full Exhaust S.R.M., Greddy Profec-B, Greddy Turbo Timer, Nitto 555ZR, Konig 18's, Panasonic DVD, Alpine Equip, and more...

its best to run em at or close to stock 14-16, but alot of people do have them at 18, you reaaaally shouldnt go about 22 =\ those pore pee shooters are really stressed at that point

Also dont be running any more than 18 psi on 91 octane. In fact probably no more than 16 psi on 91 octane.

....hmm, and for all you J spec owners out there, 14-15psi is the highest you should go (due to ceramic wheels). Heard of ALOT of J-specers boosting to US spec levels and destroying their stock turbos.

Well I have found that 14 psi. on my 87 Turbo works just fine. My buddy was tryin out his new boost controller and when he hit 18 - 20 he hit the fuel cut off. I guess it all depends on what model Supra you have. Of course the 14 psi was before i got my Turbo upgrade, So all i have to say is Upgrade, Upgrade, and Upgrade some more.

I run 18-20 lbs. at all times and 25+ at the track on race fuel which ends up dropping a few psi by the traps. I'm also approaching 140k
on my car with the original turbo's. #2 just recently(136k) started smokeing through the exhaust, as a leaky valve stem seal would, at start up. Before a boost controller was installed the car ran 16 psi in summer and 18 in winter at bpu(dp,bcc, int, exh) w/ the exception of bc. Hope this is helpful.

More than 18 PSI will kill them much quicker and 28PSI i giev them 2 more weeks. Thats just plain stupid.

...after about ~22psi the efficiency of the stock turbos will drop like a brick. All your doing is just pumping hot air. I would never push it past 18psi on the street, or 21psi on the track (with cool ambient temps, a good FMIC, and race gas).

i plan to just set it at one value permanently and not change it anymore. will that be safe if i just set it at 16psi? will there be boost spikes?

oh i forgot, if i happen to have a FMIC already, does that help my case in keeping it at 16psi?

ah yeah but boost cut is 14 Wink. so stands to reason that the turbos will be ok at that much.

hello..my car is bpu right now but i havent turned up the boost at all yet..i was wonderering this same thing...
i have intake exhaust dp bcc and bc....
do you guys notice a significant hp difference at these higer boost levels..also what should the turbos sound like at about 18+ psi...does it sound like alot of rushing air through the engine or does it still sound kind quiet like when the turboes are set at stock boost....also can you guys tell me estimated hp numbers at 16 psi 18 psi and 22 psi...assuming the car is plain bpu

nd on other thing do the stock turboes really help power after high boost like 22 psi...and this also sounds liek a noob question but why do the stock turboes loose efficency and just blow hot air into the engine after a certian boost setting...
any info would help...sorry for all the questions...i wanna do this right..i canrt afford new turboes right now Smile

thanx
