I have the Free FCD in use right now, but I also have the Greddy BCC (not installed)
I was curious if it was worth it to switch to the BCC, and if there would be any other benefits besides a better idle (the FFCD seems to make my idle lopey, maybe even misfire sometimes)

I'd go with the GReddy BCC, just because I'm better knowing off that my car has an excellent product on it that hundreds and maybe thousands of people use, and for safety reasons. It's up to you, but maybe www.mkiv.com has more information.
