what is the advantages of an electronic boost controler over a manual bc?

electronic can be controlled in the cabin of the car where as manual bc cannot be (some can be but they are expensive). in my opinion it is pointless to buy an electronic unit. i have a cheapy home made mbc (joe p style) and it is reliable, cheap, easy to install, and has never given me any problem.
