hey there i just got a set of HKS cam gears for my NA. I was surfing around the net and i found a site that says most power is commonly made by turing the exhuast cam to -3 marks(-6 actual degrees) and the inlet cam gear to +1 mark (+2 degrees). Is this true?? as i dont have enough money to have it properley tuned atm, should i adjust mine to what this says??? would i lose any power by doing this??? what should i do?!?!!

once you get it tuned properly make a note of the settings for future reference just in case the timing slips. I haven't heard of the HKS slipping yet but anything is possible.

Has anyone noticed that the HKS gears indicate A for advance and R for retard, in th eopposite directions of other gears, namely the AEM gears? So, which way do you turn the HKS gears? I just got mine and an stumped.

Whilst on the topic, I'm considering getting a set of the HKS cam gears. What HP improvement is gained from this install? And, is it noticeable??

hey there Maz, i got sum HKS cam gears on my NA bout a month ago (still not tuned) but just by having them installed it seems to idle a little smoother and revs nicer and easier over 3 grand. And i dunno if my car is just in good condition or this other supra i raced wasnt so good, but with just the cam gears, hks pod and exhaust (custom one), i smoked this other NA 5spd Supra and i got a fair amount of wheel spin off the line (my bad, my bad) admitley he only had the exhaust but i smoked him totally.
