Hey guys. This is my first post, gotta lost that V-card at some point. anyway, i picked up my TT few months ago and im going down the bpu road. I almost have a concrete idea of what i wanna do but i have a few specific questions. Seeing that im flat broke as of right now im doing this in step. I already got the Apex GT-spec cat back on and have my BCC and downpipe (RMM) on the way. I plan to get a boost controller in a couple of weeks. I am just wondering what to expect cause suprastore.com says that just the downpipe will increase boost 2 psi. so should i be expecting around 14psi when i have the downpipe BCC and cat back installed. I figure i can just set the numbers once i get the BC, but i just didnt know if the boost would fly up on me or stay right around stock. Thanks for the help, ill be postin more soon.

The BCC= Boost Cut Controller which means when you get a EBC/BC and boost to 18psi(Standard Max Psi for BPU), it won't drop. Thats the job of the BCC, it allows you to run boost that was restricted, The Exhaust and Downpipe looks like a great combo to pick up extra rwhp. Heres the combo: Raised boost=more rwhp(using bcc and ebc), boltons=more rwhp(exhaust,dp. Without a BC you won't be able to raise the boost you'll only gain rwhp on those boltons you bought, but once you get a EBC you'll pick up the power of the raised boost(stock boost is 11-12psi), care to add an intake and a boost gauge to make yourself full BPU and don't forgot plugs with new breather hoses so you won't misfire? I'll hit you up online when I see you on.

Spark Plugs Info by my good friend Mike T:
Basically you want similar plugs as stock, but a cooler heat range and a smaller gap. The stock plugs are NGK BKR6EP-11 (2978) and are platinum tipped and have a .044 (1.1mm) gap. The ideal NGK replacement for a modified Supra would be the BKR7E (6097). It is one range cooler (the '7'), is non-platinum tipped (the lack of the 'p') and has a smaller .0315 gap (lack of the '-11'). This plug is also called the NGK 6097 and they are fairly inexpensive. Platinum tipped plugs are not desired for high power applications, Iridium plugs are more prefered. Unfortunately their doesn't seem to be a BKR8E which might be better for high-HP Supras.

Another good plug to try is the Denso Iridium IK22 or IK24. These plugs may last longer than the above mentioned NGKs, but are also 6 times as expensive. The stock replacement plug would be the IK20, the IK22 is one step cooler, and the IK24 is two steps cooler than stock. The IK22 would be good for ~400rwhp to ~600rwhp. The IK24 would probably be a good choice above that. Two other plugs commonly used are the NGK 3330 (BCPR7ES) which differ much more from the specifications of the stock plugs than NGK 6097. Also the Rapid Fire #5 used to be very popular, but are more expensive, don't last as long, and have fallin out of favor. Both of those plugs have been known to cause slight stumbling at idle. Plugs on Supras do not live long, usually around 5,000-10,000 miles. So I recommend replacing them with every other oil change.

There is a lot of Sports Cars then there is a Supra.

a dp can give a slightly higher boost but i doubt you will see a spike.

when you dont have a boost controller, the downpipe will raise your boost up about 2 psi....a boost controller will CONTROL YOUR BOOST....you can set it to run basically whatever amount you want...if you want to run 11 psi with the downpipe you can...the way it works is the boost will build up and when the set psi level on the boost controller is reached , it will bleed off excess boost through the wastegate....i would definatly recomend a digital boost controller (avc-r) as they are more flexible and more acurate...

..however, a boost controller will not let you run LESS boost than your stock actuators are set for.
