hello,
the other day i drove my car for the first time in a while..the car is bpu but my boost controller isnt hooked up anymore and it is runing stock boost...in first gear when i floor it from a stop it has a really quick hesitation or kind of like a quick miss right when the second turbo kicks in...i dont understand..i dont have a BCC and i have a 6 spd...this miss happends at like 4,500 rpms..and only lasts like a split second..it only did it a few times..and both turboess pool perfect..this is the only glitch i felt... also when i started my car it has a little smoke...and when i drove it hard and came to a stop sometimes there was a little blue smoke...could this be just becasue i havent drove it in like 2 months..but i start it all the time..give me any info you can thanx Red 1994 Supra Twin Turbo 6 Speed BPU "You know you can't keep up" |

Hum...I am not the best at diagnosing problems, but sure does not sound good to me. You should bring the car to a mechanic soon to check that out. How much mileage on your car?

you need bcc, the smoke is no problem its like that because you haven't driving it in a while. probably smells like rotten egg too

thanx 94 project..but the reason why i dint think it was the bcc was becasue when my freind had the same mods as me in his supra and he didnt have a bcc..when you drove his car hard and when boost cut kicked in it was like hitting a brick wall...it literally would throw you to the front of the car really fast..at first when we felt it it was scary as hell...and when it would hit boost cut all his dash warnign lights woulkd come on for a second...idk maybe his car was messed up but whn he put in the bcc it was perfect...idk i thought boost cut was alot worse then what this felt like...i just didnt want to find out that my turboes are goign bad or my sequential setup is messed up..
ok thanx for the info..but does it still seem like its boost cut...its the slightest little miss when the turboes change over..i am guessing this is when the boost spikes ok thanx ice Red 1994 Supra Twin Turbo 6 Speed BPU "You know you can't keep up" |

you should consider going to true twin, it will save your turbos a lil better. also it will eliminate some of the hesitation and boost drop then sudden kick in the ass when the 2nd turbo comes online.
put some new gas in the car, new oil, reset the ecu and see if it still smokes bad. it might just be a lil oil or it could be the valve stems. |

thanx zero one
i want to do the ttc conversion but i kinda want to stay sequential...its not the sudden boost kick in thats bothering me..its the slight hesitation right before the second turbo comes online....its like a split second little miss or something...only does it sometimes...also i just changed the oil a few weeks ago and barely drove the car...its got a full tank of gas in t thats been in there for a couple of months..so i gotta run that out before i get new gas....i will try to reset the ecu because it sputters for a second or 2 when i rev it in neutral and let off the gas..when it goes to idle it almost dies...and then goes back to normal idle....the harder and faster i rev it and let off the gas the more it sputters...u got any ideas.... thanx for the help icedsupra Red 1994 Supra Twin Turbo 6 Speed BPU "You know you can't keep up" |

This happened to me. Did you battery die or was it unpluged? I would change your sparkpluges and re-gap them to .30 and after you do that reset your computer for 1 hour by pulling 1 and 2 fuses. This worked for me.

LIKE BRO 8 SAID ....HOW ABOUT YOU SPARK PLUG GAPPING? (CHECK THE EASY THINGS FIRST)I HAD A MISS WHEN THE SECOND TURBO KICKED IN IT TURNED OUT TO BE THOSE DAM IRIDIUM PLUGS WERE GAPPED WRONG SO I WENT TO A STAIGHT UP COPPER NGK RACING PLUG

ANOTHER STUPID THING THAT CAN MAKE YOUR CAR NOT RUN RIGHT IS BOV ADJUSTMENT...OPENING TOO SOON/NOT OPENING ENOUGH....

Completely agree about re-gapping the plugs. I had a similar problem and regapping to .32 completely cured it.

blue smoke = valve stem seals or turbo seals.

For the hesitation you are experiencing, you should have replaced your plugs with colder NGK plugs with a smaller gap. It's a little better for BPU applications.
It may also be the coil packs. http://www.suprastore.com/toysupcoilpa.html |
