For basic BPU, in addition to a BCC, boost controller, boost gauge and a downpipe, an aftermarket exhaust seems to be touted as an essential component. However, the stock system when relieved of its cats looks like it should flow pretty well. In fact it looks like the two stock pipes should offer more volume for exhaust to flow through than a typical aftermarket single pipe system. I would like to know if anyone has ever dyno tested or knows from personal experience (butt dyno/quarter times) if switching from stock to aftermarket (at above BPU spec) really makes a worthwhile difference. Thanks.

GETTING RID OF AS MUCH EXAUST AS YOU CAN IS ESENTIAL TO TURBO CARS SO IF YOUR ASKING IF ITS WORTH GETTING AFTER MARKET EXAUST OVER STOCK WITH NO CATS .....YES AT ANY SPEC IT IS CRUCIAL TO GO BIGGER THAN STOCK

Supra180 said it right, the best exhaust for a turbo is NO exhaust..the less back pressure you have, the better. Even if the car is bone stock with no mods, putting the most open exhaust you can get is going to make a noticable difference...

Thing is that I don't want too much noise. What's the best aftermarket for performance with minimal increase in noise over stock? Thanks.

I've heard that the TRD systems have quite a subdued sound, if not the most.

Take in consideration of the Greddy Evolution, another quiet at idle but roars up at WOT exhaust.

There is a lot of Sports Cars then there is a Supra.

Hope this helps,

In general, greddy exhausts are pretty quiet. THe greddy power extreme is very quiet, and still makes some power. I would sell you my old one, but i already sold it. YOu can probably find one with a quick search online.

I know that getting rid of the stock exhaust will drop some weight, my stock exhaust system was $#@$@#$ heavy.

If your looking for a light weight system go for the HKS Titanium race series, it failrly lights, and one of the best hp boosting exhausts, or for a really light system you could go for the top secret full titanium exhaust, I think it's like 5.7 lbs tops! Very Light!

Good Luck with your exhaust choise!

if you want low not too loud in your face kind of exhust then i suggest the Blitz Nur spec exhust. Its not too loud but its loud enough.. but i think the apex-i N1 is louder than the blitz...

Depends on what you want if you want streetlegal and good sound and you dont care about looks go with the tanabe racing medalion its a great buy for your money. Um I am a big fan of the HKS Titanium but you should really only get that if your going single but its to each his own. GT spec is a good one and the blitz nur spec is loud as hell if you get a custom midpipe.
