I know most of you guys who own supras don't, but I live in california, and I got a ticket for my thermal r&d exhaust the other day, I wish to sell it and get a street legal system, what do you recommend?

I heard the tanabe ehxuast is the best street legal exhaust on the market, it that true? Thanx guys.

the only exhaust i would go for is the
BL 4" or Hks Ti... but those are even louder then ur current (less bends)

tanabe is quite loud also, but i hate the design of it

You might just want to add another CAT onto your existing exhuast. That should bring down the sound a bit...if you into fabricating the installation of the cat.

The Tanabe are also 50-state leagal cat-back systems. I don't know if the others are...

You may want to look into the TRD system...since its TRD, its stock. Unless the cop is really anal, which most of them are, they might just let it pass since its TRD. But you really need to have all components ( cat, muffler, etc. ) installed.

Do you have a NA or TT ?? NA with aftermarket exhausts are going to be louder than TT.

Why would an NA with aftermarket exhaust be louder than a TT?

TT = more airflow = louder
NA = less airflow = quieter

I guess I'm wrong....someone explain.

I know my aftermarket TT exhaust is a shitload louder than my NA's was.

if you got pulled over with a thermal (quieter than the RM) then you can fight that ticket. then again this thread is almost a year old. an NA can be louder than a TT because the turbo in a way acts like a muffler. i have been considering getting a new exhaust to replace my busted up tanabe (which could probably be repaired) but i dont care for the looks of the RM, however the piping size, straightness, and sound are perfect for what i want.

please explain. i had the tanabe for about 8 months and it was a great exhaust, top quality, good sound, straight piping, and cost about half what other exhaust of the same level.

I guess he thinks that since we own a supra everythign we put on our cars has to be HKS, GREDDY, or APEXI....guess he thinks the tanabe exhaust is ricey...I kinda like it its different.
