Nice!

I have not seen the single kit around in sometime. I have the twin kit complete. On the crossover I noticed an extra bung welded into the front of it. What was that being used for?

An additional injector.
Do you have any pics up of your twin kit installed anywhere?
The only person i have heard of ever owning a twin kit is Dean Marcum but i havent seen it installed.

Thanks!

Right now I have figured out everything I need to and am disassembling the front of the car to go to the painter. I have had smoeone come forward to purchase the kit and I have given them until the end of the month so I will have to wait and see. Have you had any offers on your kit?

Nope, no offers. Just an assload of inquiries. I am willing to take the first reasonable offer so I can get back to tuning my MKIII.
Make sure you post pics of your ride after the new paint dries.

Spam,

I would have liked to have gotten a certain amount for my TT kit as well but nobody these days is willing to cough up the dough for the one and only T3 kit made by HKS. They just don't think the 12 valve 5M/6M motors are cabale of making power. I am hoping to prove them wrong. If the other person falls through and I come up in line I will give you 500.00 plus shipping for the kit.

You're right!

The difference is the car was not streetable. I am also not shooting for that much horsepower. The 400 to 500 range on low boost and 500 to 600 on high will be more than enough. The trick is to do it without losing anything the car already has in the way of comfort. I think I was already knocking on the 325 range on the stock 5M with stock injectors at 12 psi before a driving error on my part ended that motor.

Joel Tanzman just ran a 9.2 at Pomona this last weekend. Unfortunately a blown coolant hose ended his day. Joel is running a 7M on a MkII though, so I'm not quite sure if that qualifies, but he is in the 1000 hp range. The M series engines are capable of lots of power, nobody can dispute that.

I thought he was running a 7M short and 5M head?

The engine I saw looked entirely 7M. Of course I'm not an expert on the 5M or 6M, but I believe the 7M cam covers will not fit a 5M/6M. At least not as far as I have seen. However I could be wrong.

I don't imagine he's running a 5M/6M head though. I don't know the details of interchangability, but the 24V system gives great low end in the way it flows, but Joel is running mostly top end and heavy nitrous. Seems to me the 7M head with a heavy port and polish would make more sense.

Again, I reserve the right to be wrong. I do know he told me it was a 7M and the cam covers are that of a 7M. Take that for whatever it's worth. I'm not proficient in the 5M/6M yet.

The 5M/6M and 7M cam covers are vastly different thanks to their different valvetrain configuration... so if it looked like a 7M cam cover, it must have been a 7M head!

That's what I thought, but never having taken apart a 5M/6M I'm not one to say for sure. Guess that means he is a full 7M! But then again the essential differences between the 7M and 5M/6M don't make a huge difference. Having done 1000 hp on a 7M shows that "these old engines" are capable of power! The difference is you have a better weight than the MkIII's!
