Has anyone ever used the RabidChimp turbo kit? I was thinking about buying their upgraded one and would like some opinions.

rabidchimp.com turbo kit is the shit man...Mark on celicasupra.com made 271rwhp with it at 11psi. He was goin to break 300rwhp but i guess he never got the chance to. peace out

11psi? WOW... that's pretty impressive. I was just worried about the cost. I'm just wondering if I welded up my own intercooler and got a used turbo and manifold but purchased everything else if I wouldn't be better off?

Here's what I want to do:

Shave head, port/polish, rabidchimp upgraded turbo kit, full 3" exhaust, and larger fuel injectors, (maybe 7MGE). Toying with the idea of and MSD6A-BTM ignition and 1mm oversized valves. Any thoughts, or should I just find that dude and see what he did?

remember you will need a MHG and ARP bolts or studs. If you want to go and buy a used turbo, manifold and fab up your own intercooler and hardpipes go right ahead as it will be cheaper. But this kit is awesome and kicks ass. You will need to step up to 295cc off the 7mge so you can have more fuel. Another option would be the AIC which he offers. I have no clue where you are goin to find 1mm oversize valves for the 5mge. Also rememeber to get a beefier clutch. 300rwhp is not far from reach and anyone could accomplish it with the 5mgte. good luck

Yeah, I was gonna get a MHG and those were the injectors I was thinking about using, just wasnt sure if they were big enough. RabidChimp has the 1mm/over valves and I was gonna get one of their ACT clutches. Thanx for all the feedback!Wink

yes those injectors should be good enough for well over 300rwhp. But remember you will need a piggyback to tune it(safc). If your looking for over 300rwhp then the stage 2 act clutch is your choice. Unless you dotn mind spending a little more and goin with an rps clutch off of an IS300 rated to 400rwhp. You will also need to tune the afm dial counter clockwise about 11-17 teeth though. good luck on project
