Ok, so, I finally got my 5MGE to run after three years of not touching it and for some weird reason my RPM gauge isn't working. Where is the connector for the Cluster Pod to the Tranny? Do I need to take out my steering wheel, then the cluster to find the fuses for my RPM and reconnect it or would there be another problem... Shit.

No you don't need to remove the steering wheel to get to the cable connector. You can simply reach behind it. It might be loose or you just might have a bad cable.

Thanks IR

Do you know what color the plastic fuse cover is and where its located? Im guessing its blue and behind the fire wall or blue and under the steering wheel cover.

what plastic fuse cover are you talking about? Are you talking about the fuse junction box at the driver side or the fuse junction box in the engine bay?

The drives side kick panel. I checked the Gauge fuse yesterday [top row, first fuse, orange-7.5 range.] and it wasn't burnt out. is there anywhere else I should check?

Ps. Could it be a fusible link? The plastic links that connect fuse boxes to other electrical mechanisms found in the engine bay.

Are you saying that your guage don't work? the RPM or the MPH? OR the dash lights? I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.. please specify your thread?

Hey IR,

I got a tach and i bypassed the RPMs at the cluster and spliced the wires to the tach.

Its running and I got it registered till June as a moving permit. I went and got it smogged and my emissions were really low; i passed, but they wont give me my paper work cause my timing is off from stock 10 to a running 28 now.

Sucks, but timing is the least of my problems. Im driving her and she runs real good. True love. Thanks for your help IR

Oh, nice... that is great to hear but they won't give you your "pass smog" paper because your timing is too low? hmm... thats a trip. You know, I went through so much bull crap with smog when I used to live in Cali. The smog shop was one of my worse place to go to. But now,... I'm finally free... anyway, no problem lance.
