Hey all. How bout posting some updates on your cars' progress. I have an 85 p-type with a Chimp-built 5mge, right now she's locked up in storage, but when I get home the checkbook's coming out. She'll either get a 2J or she'll get a brother in the form of an 87 cressida with a possible 2J. Yeah...it's pretty obvious....I want a 2J....

First off, good luck from a soldier. Second, I might be interested in taking that 5m off of your hands. I would rather do a 7m, but Chimpstyle will work. If it's cheap enough.

Let me know!!!

Progress:

Three years and my p-type didn't work. I retired it early for a 97' Saturn and better gas mileage. Terrible decision. My GF was buggin me to fix my Supra so I could school her AE86, 240SX, and honda owner friends at school. honestly 5MGE's are Honda food, but I still love her.

I used to start my car and it would die automatically. Come to find out my Dad installed the wrong battery with 150apms less than what I needed to crank my engine. I also had a major air leak between the intake piping and the EFI trottle body so I ghetto rigged it and got my air back, cleaned my PCV and Throttle body of gunk and did a minor tune up.

Now she runs like a beast with no sputtering or anything.

Problem: I cant get it to smog legally cause my RPM gauge isnt responding, but a nightly ride doesn't stop my 5M to kill it on the streets.

True love.

**I'm gonna screw the engine soon and get a 7MGTE with my tax refund, court case for my totaled Saturn [bout time] and just cash from work... Oh, its gonna be so nice.

Its been awhile, but my 85 P-Type passed smog and is running hella cool. Its bumped up to a 20 degree BTDC timing, stock all around with Tokico gas shocks. Im going to Napa's 121 soon for a ride with some friends and we''ll see how she measures up on the corners with everyone else Wink I picked up a new fender, flare, and the two piece rear spoiler. They just got painted and will be on after the clear coat! Me and my girl race alot now. Shes got a Honda Prelude Si V-Tec... She kicks my butt. Sadly. Ill get her when I buy some chimpy parts. Her ex drifts a AE86, but he doesn't get me too well on the corners (he freezes when I roll behind =) TANGENT!!! Okay this is too long. Basically, my car needs more work, but I'm real proud of its progress.
