How do you Disable your EGR Valve. I was told that it could give you better Performance if it was Disabled.

Is the any Negitive Sides to this towards your Engine?

A negative side effect, if you can call it that, is you need a higher grade of gas.

The valve recirculates inert exhaust gas into the intake tract. This will not burn, and lowers combustion temps. This lowers NOx. NOx is formed in high combustion temps. And all through nature for that matter.

I would need to look in the repair manual for something that old. It is usually disabled at WOT, below 2500 rpm and above 5000 rpm. It is only used in steady cruise.

In Tressel we trust.
