For those who are interested, I updated my web site with pics of my latest progress. I have included details of my Hilux tailshaft upgrade, changing the timing belt and water pump, and the new exhaust system and intercooler plumbing.

Dude, you are over the top. We need people to try shit like this. Right on.
On a quick note, is there noticably more fabrication than the 7MGTE? The Sonic sites makes the 7M swap sound kind of easy in the grand scheme of things. You are not fast, and you sure as hell are not furious. |

It's not as easy as the 7M swap, but it's still not hard as far as engine conversions go. The only fabrication work I had to do was welding new brackets on the crossmember... no big deal really. The 7M has the advantage of using the same engine mount design as the 5M, so crossmember mods aren't necessary.
