Yep you heard right, I got mine for 250 bucks. It needs a catlytic converter and a couple of other small things, I think I'm going to be using this car drifting and autocross. Anyways the guy told me what the engine had and I can't remember what he said though. I did some research but not enough, I know the motor is a inline 6 dohc. Sounds ok, the compression is good on the car, if I wanted to how much do you think I could turn around and sell this thng for? Here are the pics:

It's clean title. I think it has 155k miles on it and on the stock motor. 5 speed. Good interior and exterior. I just want to know the specs on the motor and the hp and what not. Where can I find a catalytic converter for this sucker? Thanks for the help.

Drive it like you stole it...

The stock motor is 150-160hp if it is still the 5M-GE motor.

The 5M motor is what some call 'bulletproof'. It is arguebly Toytota best motor besides the 2JZ for longevity.

I had a 84 Supra, and although it was a daily driver, it was a sweet car, and sold it with 220,000 miles, didn't burn a drop of oil, but it did need all new seals, as it was leaking oil(cam and crank).

One option some MK2 owners use, is to do a motor swap to a 6M motor (Japan only). It looks identical to the 5M, and I think the wiring harness is the same, but is 3.0L, at 190-200hp stock, and alot of the parts for the 7M (like exhaust manifold) I hear bolt right up to the 6M block, so it is easier to turbo if you want to go that route.

Have fun with your new ride!! I miss mine that is for sure as it was the most realiable daily driver car I have ever had.

Its an 82 so the power is 145 hp. The 85s had the 160 hp motor. A good upgrade is a 7m swap. The motor mounts are the same as are the bell housings so things are pretty staight forward.
The 6m motors are getting harder to find as they were only available in Japan. Check out celicasupra.com for the best MK2 archive and forum on the web Cool
