I just bought my 84 supra and Im in the process of Installing parts, I also think that my valve guide seals are gone on one piston. oil on the plug and smokes and burns it. What would be the Advantage of a 6-mge engine over a 5-mge engine

I know a guy with a 97 Integra that is begging to race me, Would this engine swap help.

thank you Smile

The only major difference is the longer stroke of the 6M, which increases its displacement to 3.0 litres. This gives it a bit more power and a lot more bottom-end torque than the 5M.

I have a 85 5mge and I am also looking to do the 6mge swap. Do you know anything about that swap. I was also thinking to go a little crazier and throw in a 7m-gte. That is what I really want to do. But for now, it is still the 5m.

Both swaps have been done a thousand times, and there's lots of info on the net if you do a bit of searching. A good place to start is here:

The 85/86 spoiler is one big piece. It basically covers the entire top of the rear decklid. You can buy the 85+ spoiler from any wrecking yard that has one. You might be able to still get one from Toyota, but they were extremely expensive new (like ~$1000)
