the 7MGTE can be quit difficult to do and the 7mge can be a lot easier to do since there isn't a whole lot of wiring to do. But you'll still need a donor to do the project right. Or if you want you can do a 6mge swap and that motor is about 190 HP. Just 10 HP less from a 7MGE. will, hope this helps out..

A 6MGE is not a bad ideal for the MA60 because it'll be a easy drop in. Just make sure you get the ECU if you buy the motor and before you do, make sure that the motor is running up to spec. You'll want to perform a compression test on the 6mge before you get it because you don't want a bad engine thats for sure. Or have your friend perform a compression test to make sure that the engine is running top condition. The 6MGE isn't a bad choice because you can still turb0 the engine and get pretty impressive HP.

hey, i new to the supra world, even though i have had my car for over 5 years. i like what my 5m can do but i'd never knew about this 6mge before. so wats the difference between the 5m and the 6m. cant you use the same ecu from the 5m for the 6m. i didn't know that the 7m turbos bolt on to the 5m's. wow i'm learning alot from you guys. Now i really have a reason to keep my mk2. thanks guys

sorry I hadn't the time to jump in here to share some of my thoughts with MKII enthusiast. I once was and still is. The difference between a 5MGE and a 6MGE is: the 5MGE has about 160 hp and the 6MGE has 190 hp. The 5MGE has 12valve inline six and the 6MGE has 24valve inline six. If you buy a long block 6MGE notice that it don't have a EGR system. The intake system is a little smaller. It will not meet smog regulation if you live in a state w/smog test. You must use the exact ECU for the Exact engine or else it will not perform properly. The ECU harness is different. And if you do plan on putting a turbo into your 5M it is also a good idea. The valves on the 5MGE are bigger so there aren't a lot of heat build up and it is very good for turbo. The 7MGTE Turbo manifold will bolt right onto the 5MGE. The only thing you'll have to do is shave little bit off at the end of where it meets with the powersteering pump. So that it won't it the P/S pump. The CT26 will work perfectly fine with the 5m. You'll need some 450cc injectors off from the 7MGTE or off of a 7MGE. Upgrade your fuel pump by getting a better fuel pump. Walbro fuel pump is most recomended. You'll need to beef up your tranny as well if you do turbo your 5m. I hope this helps out 530supra.
