my 85 smokes. i am stupid and i have no clue why, i was thinking it might be a vlave. i have never taken a block apart, or anything. what should i do? ...and if its not a valve what else could it be?

what color smoke? could be valves or headgasket if its blue smoke. if its black/grey the car could be running rich. if its white its just moisture.

the smoke is dark grey. i want my car to run clean, but how do i fix the problem now that i might know what it is?

Damn I got that same thing!
K, so what i did was run your car till it has almost no gas. Put in High Octane and fuel system cleaner. Test Drive. If its not working, then you are running rich. Replace the old O2 Sensor and you should run better. If not then the gases arent converting to their proper state. Change the cat. If not... well, get it diagnosed. your probably not burning your fuel correctly in the combustion chambers. Good Luck. |
