I was shopping at a local auto store today looking for a motor that I might put in my car. When I asked him how much a 7MGE would run me, he tried to talk me into 2JZGTE and said it would bolt to the same mounts as a 5M and a 7M. My question is this, do they really bolt to the same mounts, or is this guy just looking for the big bucks?

Yes, I am a Supra Newbie

I have recently put a 2JZ-GTE in a Mk2 Supra. Trust me when I tell you the engine mounts are vastly different. The guy you spoke to is obviously full of crap.

No it's not finished yet. I've been a bit slack updating my web site lately, but there's not that much to say anyway... I installed the flywheel, clutch and transmission last weekend but I didn't bother taking any pics because I'm sure everyone has seen a transmission before. wink Anyway, when something more interesting happens I'll post an update.

Not Norbie's, but it's a JZA60:

2mb for the picture, 4.4 for the MPG. It's a 2JZ MkII, and it runs quite well. This was at a local AutoX event.

The owner of the car is a really cool person actually. I think the car is awesome but I wouldn't steal it from him. Besides, the pride of actually doing the conversion is his, owning it would not mean anything to me.

I'm still waiting to see once he starts to mod a little, the car is a beast as it is, but is only stock as it stands.

Made my decision, and my wife agreed. Now I just need to get the money to do the conversion. Thanks for the info.

And Norbie, you site actually gave me an idea on how the job might be. Thanks.

How about posting a time with that JZ engine. Somebody on the net did 12's with ease if I remember with a 7MGTE and sport turbo upgrade. Light makes right, thats for sure.

By the way, forgive my english, I know its bad but cuz I'm french.

The only thing I hope is, will my digital dashboard fit, I really want to keep it.
