Hey, I'm putting a new clutch in my 88 non turbo, and I'm not sure which one to get. I'm looking at the drivetrain packages 1 and 2 with the RPS clutches, and also at the ACT clutch for the non turbo. Has anyone used an RPS or ACT clutch? Which is better, and are there any problems associated with either? Thanks a lot

I've heard very good things about the RPS clutch. I'm putting a carbon-carbon twin into my project supra. They can hold all the power you can throw at them and they are extremely streetable. They are also rebuildable. Go to SupraStore and check out what is said about them, its 100% right on. I'm not sure about ACT but I know RPS is bullet proof. The only thing matching them is Tilton.

I got the sport/street RPS clutch for my 89 turbo and it seems to be doing pretty good. It's nothing harsh and I just finished a 1000 mile break in on it (1000 miles in....10 days Smile) but it seems really smooth and yet I did manage to lay a nice patch of rubber today testing it out.

Actually Tilton is better than the RPS Wink BUT they also charge accordingly Wink

once again. RPS does not make a C/C setup for the MKIII. At least not yet.

BUT back to the posters question. These two clutches mentioned are OVERKILL for your project unless you have money burning a whle in your pocket Wink (meaning at least $2800 dollars for the RPS and $4500 for the tilton).

ACT, SPEC, Unorthodox all make a nice clutch for the 7m-GE.
