Hey guys, my engine diognostic codes showed that my transmissions solenoids are out, im pretty sure they are solenoids 1 and 2. i have it written down somewhere and i already got the parts. its having a hard time shifting and getting into gear from a stop. my question is, if any of you changed out your shift solenoids did you have to drop the whole tranny to do it? if so i might as well wait until the engine is out of the car (im doing a n/a-turbo conversion as soon as i get the 7m-gte back together.), and if you ran into any problems what were they?

well i havent done any tranny work but i took out my ge and trust me engine and tranny both out you'll be able to do anything u need to do and want to do with ease. I suggest wait till u take it out. Good luck hope i could help a little. Justin

alright you got a good point. it shouldnt be more than about a month or two before i am making the swap, so ill just do the tranny work then. thanks man.

no prob!!! helps so u wont have to be under the car facing upwards making things difficult. luckily i have a car lift but its still hard considering u have to look up all the time. LOL but always good luck. Justin
