If you use a 1jz bellhousing it MIGHT, but I'm really not into the 1jz 2jz thing so you'll have to double check on that.

If you're putting a 2jz-gte in your mkiii(87-92)and using an A340 auto tranny, you'll tear it up REALLY fast. It's only good for like 300-350hp. You can have it rebuilt at several different places to hold more power, or go with a 5spd r-154 or the 6spd getrag from the mkiv (93-98)

the 1jz bellhousing would make it possible. but like bill said, you'll rip that sucker up real fast.

your best bet would be to find a manual transmission 1jz bellhousing and use an r-154 (the turbo 5 speed tranny from the mk3)

using the 6 speed (getrag) from the mkiv would be useless unless you get the rear end changed out for a different ratio. (read: closer to the stock mkiv ratio) you'll have a lower top speed with the getrag and the mk3 rear end.

also, the getrag is a longer transmission than the mk3's, you'd have to get a custom driveshaft made for it. another thing to keep in mind, is that the shifter location will be further back toward the rear of the car if you do go the getrag route, and the transmission tunnel needs to be widened to make it fit, too.

^ that's a matter of opinion, and nothing else. (though, i do prefer manuals over autos)

you could use an automatic if you want. they generally don't hold as much power, but a built auto can get you where you want to go, and most times, faster than a manual car. Wink

Ok, after reading this I was wondering about my transmission, I have an auto turbo, how could I build up my cars transmission, although All I wont build up to over 300, because I dont see the need in so much power in my car.
