I need help, I have a turbo 350 sitting around that wants to bolt onto my 7MGTE, but I dont know where to get tips on the conversion or if anyone has ever done it. I'm about to get a new drive shaft made so i figure if im going to do the swap now is the time. Is there a kit i can buy, or do i have to fab everything??

If anyone has done this and knows what is involved it would be great if I could get some info Thanks!

Chevy doesnt make transmissions.

Click Here, go to the note at the bottom about the Turbo Hydramatic conversion.

I called that place and they only offer "turbo hydromatic conversions" for mk IV models. I know i've heard of someone doing this to thier mk3, it seems like someone had it in thier sig notes...i dunno maybe it was another forum.

I dont know who actually makes the tranny but it is currently bolted to a smallblock 350, anyway I may be mistaken, just thought it would be cool to row that tranny down the dragstrip.

Oh, and thx for reply Nick M! Smile sign of life is good

Lance Wolken's old car is the only one I know of that had a TH350 bolted to a 7M. He sold it to some guy from the New England area best I can tell, there are occasional sightings of the 10 second MK3 at Lebanon Valley dragway. Unless you can get in touch with Lance or the new owner of his car, it looks like you are on your own for a GM slushbox conversion.

Well thanks for the input. I geuss i will buy a clutch/flywheel, i was thinking maybe the conversion (if popular) would help on funds since i already have the tranny and a clutch/flywheel is $1000+. I will check the rest of this section of the forum for the best clutch selection ect.

Thanks!!

For the record on tranmissions, The Hydramatic company is a division of General Motors Corporation. A little FYI. It seems like tranzdude was pimping a THM conversion for our car. But that was a year ago, and it sounds like they don't do it anymore.

Supracentral was receptive to suggestions about an install kit. Stay tuned for updates.
