i want to do a gearbox swap to my 89 turbo, found a supra non turbo for sale it looks ready for the scrap yard! its got a manual box, if i bought the car i would have every think to just swap over but will the flywheel will be differant? i would buy a new clutch for it would a turbo clutch be best for it? is the manaul non turbo geared differant to a turbo box? i dont want to lose any top speed!
i want to run about 400 bhp do you think that i would be best to keep lookin for a turbo box? thanks james
The W58 transmission (the non turbo tranny) will hold in upwards of 400rwhp hp, where as the R154 (turbo tranny) can handle anything, i would advise you to just go for the r154 because it will last for a long time. The w58 will hold it but for how long is a different story.

Thanks, I am going to get one when mine goes out. It has 175000 miles on it and its probably tired by now. I am not sure because I have only drove it twice. Its in the shop getting a Soko engine. I get it back in a couple of day I can't wait.
Run your car not your mouth i dont expect you to keep up just shut up!
