i was driving today and my clutch stopped returning from the floor. after checkoing the slave cylinder i notice the piston in it actually shot completly out. i think it was installed wrong. shouldn't the spring go into the slave cylinder body?

If the push rod and the boot came out they're sitting road side somewhere.
