if im not doing under 20mph, and want to downshift to 2nd, it will grind nasty. is this my clutch or tranny?

synchros. get some good synthetic gear oil, such as redline or royal purple. drain your gear oil, put in the royal purple/ or redline, and drive it for a while. it helps.
