I forgot to matchmark the clutch cover and flywheel.
What do I need to do to make sure everything is lined up properly and installed correctly?

To add to my post above....
I removed my enegine from the transmission and the repair manual says that you need to matchmark the clutch cover and flywheel. I just want to know why you would need to do this.

they say that because some pressure plates dont have a specific patter as for mounting. it like when i owned hondas and talons tsi's, they say that so you put it back the way it came off.

imo, i never had a problem at all most pressure plates and flywheels have a set way of alignment, so skip that step like i and others do cuz its not necessary to do. trust me i had a talon tsi awd and always smoked clutches at the track and never had a problem nor noticed a difference. make sure that the clutch is centered with an alignment tool and go from there, if not you'll never get the tranny on.

later........
