alright, i have just noticed thsi problem recently. but when i start up my car, it will idle at about 1100 or 1200 rmp when its cold. thats with the clutch in. but as soon as i release my clutch in neutral, it drops down a couple hundred rmp. like to 1000 or 900. now i wasnt sure if that would be the throw out bearing goin on my or if would be something else. any knowledge on this would help alot -thanks

For starters, "a lot" is two words, not one. Smile

Your idle should be higher when it is cold. And when the pedal is out, the clutch is actually in. So the engine is partially loaded, and it could idle a little bit lower, although I have never noticed.

yeah it does idle faster when i first start it. i get in my car, push down the clutch, start it. it idles at like 1200 then when i let up on the clutch it drops down to 1000 or 900, which it use to stay up at 1200. but now it drops off when the clutch is dis-engauged. the idle will go back up when the pedel is pushed in though. ss i have no idea??

because when you release the clutch pedal, the actual clutch disk engages the flywheel and spins the transmission (in neutral) and puts a small load on the engine, which in turn is slowing the engine down a little bit. Engine spinning slower means a lower rpm (rpm being the speed at which the engine is spinning)

clear enough?
