Gents,
Ever run across a nasty clunk from the rear when turning? Nice once-per-revolution sound of metal on metal only occuring under hard (body roll) left turns. Never during right turns. Sounded like the half-shaft (similar failure mode on my FWD beater) but after replacing it I can confirm that was not it (on a side note that job was WAY easier than on my beater). Brakes are good and tight and the rotor is true. Only thing left I can think of is the wheel bearing. Anybody else have a bright idea? Thanks. |

In the manual it says that the differential can be one of the problems.

that's the diff, mine did that for a month and it finally locked on me while i was at redline shifting from 1st to 2nd. the lock also twisted my driveshaft and my car's been sitting for 6 weeks waiting on someone selling a used 6spd DS.
I'm replacing it with a new set of JDM ring/pinion gear along with another stock LSD since they were all stripped. I'd suggest you get another LSD before it decides to lock on you. on a side note, does sears sell 32mm sockets? I have to replace the transmission hub where the Driveshaft bolts on to too. =( ------------------------------ Bush's World Democracy Checklist http://www.lilviv.com/kma/website/kys/my_supra.html |
