if u are talking about switching out ur turbo gearing for the n/a gearing aka 4.30 it will help u accel a little faster loose a little top end but u'll also burn the tires easier. not good for cruising on the high way either!

I had a 4.3 diff in my 87 turbo(manual). at 60 mph i was turning 3K RPM's. First really sucked, it was very short. by 40 mph, if i rember right, I was like in 3rd most of the time. i switched to a 3.9 I haven't had time to try it out, due to much snow, and the fact that my car has never seen snow. if you drive on the highway a lot, you may not like it.
If you do decide to switch to a 4.3. Make sure it is a lsd posi. my last one was not, and it was not fun. one tire would spin and i would go nowhere in first if trying to accel fast.
good luck adn this is just my personal opinion.
