Ok...so as I increase HP I am obviously to expect my clutch to go. At 300RWHP it was fine...now I am on my way to 400-450.

What cluch would you (whoever) recommend? I want something that is NOT harsh and can hold high HP - maybe even leave some for even greater HP? Can a have both - high HP and nice engagement? What clutches would be recommended to stay away from?

Also, I am wondering if most of the performance clutch/flywheels are designed with lightweight flywheels...?

From what I've heard, the expensive Tilton carbon/kevlar clutch system is one of the best you can get. Holds huge power, but feels like stock. I don't know if they even have a 7M application, but it might be worth looking into if you have the money.
$5000 but holds huge power and can be slipped at 8000 rpms. Eek

Well before i dropped my motor in i planned on keeping it stock for some time but my neighbor insisted me getting a zoom clutch kit. He has some dragsters and uses them on both. Said alot of NHRA guys use this clutch. Well the only local autoparts store that could get it was asking 1k for it. advanced auto parts. i havent really looked up on it but would be nice if someone had the money to try it! he also has it in his 4x4 blazer and he does alot of that. and he's had it in there for years and it still feels good.

i like my act although i wish i would have gotten the street disc rather then the four puck. but it is still pretty streetable. it chatters just a little but it isnt unbearable. i also have heard both mk3 owners and mr2 owners rave about the spec clutches and the price cant be beat for the quality of the product.

I work at Advance Auto Parts and I looked up that Zoom Clutch Set and It cost $574.88

I printed out a receipt and this is what it is...

Zoom Part #kp607-1

Zoom Sport compact performance clutch
Set; contains clutch disk, cover assembly,
release bearing, pilot bearing/bushing & alignment tool; cover type: diaphragm;
236mm x21T

And I need a stronger clucth as well, I have a stock engine and everything but knowning I had a supra I was slamming that clutch and shifting threw gears like there was no tomorrow, It doesnt exactly say in stages what this clutch set, and I barely know anything about trannys and clutches I dont really know if this clutch could handle my kind of driving or high HP and torque applications without being really "harsh" in engagement.

I was looking at some here also
http://www.suprastore.com/clutflywsec.html

and I was looking at the RPS stage 3 I dont know if the ZOOM one is as strong as this RPS Clutch cuz i want something strong and not too harsh to use and i dont have enough money to buy a carbon/carbon clutch, i heard they were really good

i dont know if i had crappy luck or not but after 15000 miles my spec stage 3 ground a groove in the flywheel and pressure plate so both are useless. i had the flywheel turned at a machine shop and both surfaces were machined so as to not lose clamp force. the maching shoe also inspected the flywheel for damage and it was fine. my disk wore completely on the outside edge and the inner sections of the pucks remained hard and in place. the raised section on the lower half of the pucks grooved the pressure plate and flywheel. it also looks as if there are cracks and fractures on the pucks as if they fragmenting under load. i broke the thing in for 850 miles and the car has seen the track once for 3 passes with a 3750 rpm dump. the clutch sure feels soft but it looks like it couldnt handle a daily commute as opposed to the dragstrip. im probably going with another company
