I was wondering if anybody knew if you need to change your ecu wen doing a 5 speed swap? I am going to put a 92 N/A 5 speed into my 88 N/A, ive got everything else squared away, but i just want to know if I need to change my auto. ecu for a 5 speed one. Also if im putting a 92 tranny into an 88 what year ecu do i want to use?

from the info i've gathered, the manual tranny doesnt bother w/ all the wires for the ecu. i was told a while back that if you had an automatic wiring harness, and a manual tranny, you just tie up/cap off the wires that would normally go to the tranny because you dont need them. i was also told by several people that an automatic ecu will work w/ a manual tranny, but not visa versa. anybody else who can help jump in any time and correct me if im wrong!!!
