I have an 87 N/A witha automatic tranny. I just put in a JDM trans, but now it wont shift automatically at all!! The antilock brake light comes on when i hit 3k RPM's in first if the trans computer is hooked up to the tranny. But i can shift it manually ( 1st,3rd,OD)it sucks too. Anybody got any ideas, i need them !Feel free to E-mail me,if your in Jax,fl ill meet up with you if you can help.

what was wrong with the old tranny?

The old Tranny burned up from a overheating problem due to a radiator line busting. it sucks!

have u changed the fluid and filter in the jdm one?

Yes, ive changed the filter and gaskets and seals already. i did all of that before i put it in the car.

That sounds like a bad governor in any trans. But you need the repair manual, I dont remember anymore.

You could have speed sensor problems. Trans speed sensors that is.

i just talked to a guy in town that used to work for toyota . he told me to cheange out the speedo gear in the trans. i did it. it shifts now, but.......the ABS light still comes on, and the O/D light flashes. what can cause that ? im out of ideas now, good thing shes not my daily driver right now
