My clutch seems to have gone out a lot faster than it should have. I just put in the new one last October and now its already slipping like crazy. When I put it in gear, I have to completely let off the clutch for it to even grip now. I just got a new master cylinder for it last week so once I get some free time I might as well change that out. Any ideas guys? Should I just pull the trans off and look at the stuff? I wasnt the one who installed it so I have no clue on how to get this trans off.

Did you break it in properly? Did you adjust the freeplay properly?

I guessing the clutch wore out. There was some chattering since it was installed so that probably caused premature wear on the clutch. Thats the last time I ever buy a 6-puck clutch. I did adjust the freeplay and It didn't change anything. I'll just order an Exedy clutch disk and resurface the flywheel and plate. I'll get the OEM plate and new one both tested before I have the tech install them.

I would get a Spec clutch over an Exedy. Spec makes great clutches.

Since I've been working for the toyota body shop, they are giving me a big break on a clutch job. $240 for labor. So most likely I'll have them install it. As for clutches, I would like one that gives me smooth engagement and had a good amount of durability to last at least 2 years before I have to replace it again and will hold up to 300hp. Thats my base that I'm looking to make.
