i just bought a rolling chassis and planning on dropping the twin turbo motor in there. anyways, i have been looking, and it seems like the only thing i can get is the JDM. i dont want the JDM but the USDM. the reason being is because the JDM only has 280hp, and the USDM is 320hp.
My question is whether i should get the USDM or JDM. i heard the USDM is kind of underrated. Let me know you .02 cents. has anyone ever done this before or am i the only one. |

I have heard the US Spec engine is better for building up but am not positive. Either way you go you will be starting with a great foundation. If you are looking at adding mods like I am sure you will...don't worry about stock spec numbers....with a few mods you will eclipse those totals quickly....
BTW...what mods if any are you looking at doing? CHRIS Supras and Z06s......I love em! |

if you can get a US engine then that is ideal because you can smog it but a jdm engine can be convertered to a close US spec model. get the turbos, injectors, intake cam, and intake manifold from a US engine and put it on a JDM engine and you will basically have a US engine. if you plan on doing heavy modification then either will do fine but for basic modification the US will be better but either will get the job done.
